Same Sex Weddings
Love is love and on 9th December 2017 the right to marry was no longer determined by sex or gender. What a wonderful day for Australia and equality. In early December 2017 I remember watching parliament passing the same sex marriage bill and feeling so proud that Australians had joined together to make such a long overdue change a reality. I would feel privileged, honoured to be a part of your special day.
Elopement
Big weddings can be stressful and are not for all couples. A more intimate experience such as an elopement might be a more suitable option. Some formalities exist but without a room full of guests you will have more quality time with each other. Your love is formally recognised under Australian law, its just more personal. I would love to help you plan a lovely little ceremony for you both.
Commitment Ceremony
A commitment ceremony is not legally binding but it is a lovely way to celebrate your love and share the experience with your family and friends Its not a wedding as such but more of a public affirmation of your love for each other. There are no real formalities or traditions so how the ceremony runs is all up to you. I'd love to help plan and deliver the ceremony with you.
Renew your vows
A vow renewal is a celebratory ceremony that reaffirms your love and commitment to each other. What a lovely way to celebrate a milestone anniversiry and reconnect with your partner. I would love to help you organise your very own I do, round two.

About Me

My passion has always been event planning and project management has been a part of my career for 20 years.
I enjoy interacting with people and have always found connecting with others a rewarding past-time. I feel I have something positive to offer the community, weather that's in my role as a Justice of the Peace, junior football coach, teaching business leadership skills to students in remote communities or as a wedding planner and marriage celebrant.
As well as being a qualified marriage celebrant, I am a Business teacher at TAFE QLD, based in Cairns but often travel to remote parts of FNQ to deliver diploma level qualifications including, project management, understanding emotional intelligence, workforce motivation, innovation, effective confrontation, conflict management skills and operational business planning. I love my job but I had always felt like I had more to offer and decided to become a marriage celebrant... Tropical Occasions was born.
